I started exploring yoga in 2008 as a way to incorporate fitness and fill the spaces of loneliness after my marriage dissolved and a 20-year corporate career ended with anger, bitterness, stress and anxiety. I was forced to deal with my unhappiness, body image issues, self-esteem, eating disorders, and the aftermath of an emotionally abusive relationship. Yoga became my vehicle for transformation.
On the mat, I found peace, self-acceptance, an ability to slow my mind down and my own physical power. I started to understand that the limits were not within my body but within my heart. After 6 years of desiring to become a yoga teacher, I finally let go of my fear and self-doubt and committed to a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification.
As a teacher I want to help others develop the awareness that yoga can change you, when you are ready to change. It can help free you from old thought patterns that no longer serve. I want to help others stand in the present moment and find peace within personal chaos. I want others to feel freedom from body shame and create new acceptance within themselves.
I am also a passionate certified holistic life coach, inspirational keynote speaker and workshop facilitator.
