My passion for the healing arts is what initially led me to yoga over a decade ago. I love to study yoga because it teaches me how to maintain a sense of well-being and vitality in my own mind and body. My personal practice is a time for me to turn inward and experience stillness and a sense of heightened awareness. I believe in the methods of yoga and I feel motivated to share what I have learned in order to help others on their paths of self-discovery and quests for personal and universal truth.
In 2007 I completed the 200-hour hatha yoga teacher training program at The Temple of Kriya Yoga in Chicago because I longed to deepen my understanding of the yogic science. The guidance I received was valuable because it inspired me to try to help others have an authentic experience. Teaching yoga is rewarding for me because I love to see the joy that emerges when individuals begin to discover for themselves the positive effects of practice. I like to encourage others to take a personal approach to yoga and to listen to the intuitive and powerful voice within.
I have a degree in Spanish language education and have previously worked in the public schools and for a financial corporation. A few years ago I left my corporate career in order to dedicate more of my time and energy to my passion. Yoga continues to be the foundation of my healing arts practice. I have provided private yoga instruction as well as classes and workshops for small groups. I am also a certified practitioner of Thai Bodywork and Chinese Acupressure. I am eager to continue to learn and grow as I share my practice with you.
