Desiree Eastham

Desiree is an Anusara-Inspired™ E-RYT 200 yoga teacher specializing in spiritually themed alignment-based hatha yoga. She has been finding joy through conscious movement since 2003. Desiree’s classes are designed to help students navigate the currents of life and discover their playful side. She believes that with passion, instinct, knowledge, constant effort, a sense of humor and an open-heart, anything is possible.

Her classes are progressively sequenced, creatively challenging, modified or varied for any level of practitioner. She offers gentle hands-on adjustments and customizes classes based on the student’s needs and offers therapeutic poses as needed. Classes include chanting and always conclude with either meditation or savasana.

Desiree has taken (2) 200-hour teacher trainings, her first with Suddha Wexler of the Chicago Yoga Center. Desiree’s second 200-hour teacher training and Anatomy & Therapeutics with Sarah Starnes. Desiree has studied extensively in Anusara and is pursuing certification. Her most teachers include: Cara Butler; Sarah Starnes; Christopher Wallis; Christina Sell and John Friend.

Desiree is also a Mat Pilates Teacher, Barre Teacher, Hoopnotica® Instructor and a Reiki Level 2 practitioner.

In her downtime, you’ll find her outdoors, studying, practicing, or spending time with her two children and husband.  Desiree offers group and private instruction. Please contact her for pricing.

Pamper myself and get a massage!

What 3 words best describe you?
Warm, inquisitive, loving

Why do you do yoga?
Yoga incorporates not only movement, but other practices, like meditation, chanting, japa and pranayama. I do these practices to remind myself that I AM Spirit and then celebrate it through sacred movement

What must you do?
I must do at least one inversion, like handstand, daily.

What would you like people to know about you?
I chant the Hanuman Chalisa daily. Chanting is healing. When I chant, feelings of l love, peace and bliss arise from within. It’s magical.

What is your best attribute?
Preserverance

What is your idea of heaven?
Heaven can be found earth-side
